Jewel’s first recording was at the age of thirteen. She was asked to sing an original tune for a break dance project that was used to promote a local recording studio in Brentwood, TN. This opportunity ignited a fire within her to achieve her goal as a professional vocalist. During her high school years, Jewel was selected to represent the state of Tennessee for Girls state at the National Choir Convention in San Antonio, Texas. And during that time she also attended the Blair school of Music of Vanderbilt University. Jewel was also voted most talented of her senior class. After gradation, she continued her education and was awarded a vocal performance scholarship, to Austin Peay State University of Clarksville, Tennessee. In her early adult life, Jewel had an opportunity to sing at local jazz, and R&B clubs, and also to travel abroad to perform at numerous functions. In 1998, Jewel moved to the state of Texas, rededicated her life to Christ, and began to focus on Jesus. She was able to co-write several songs with a local gospel label, and complete a gospel CD project entitled “Believe and Receive”. Jewel was selected to appear on the Bobby Jones Gospel showcase, 2004, in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Hotel. She was also selected to perform for the 2004 I Hear Music in the Air conference in Cincinnati, Ohio, hosted by Gospo Centric Records. She has participated in gospel music workshops with Minister Byron Cage, and Minister Steve Lawrence, director of music for the Potter’s House of Dallas, Texas. Currently, she has a maxi-single Titled “Grace” available at In 2005 Jewel opened up for several gospel artists like Shirley Caesar, The Williams Brothers, and Dr. Timothy Wright. After relocating back home to Nashville, TN, she was cast as “Effie” in the production Dreamgirls, 2007, and as “Mama Matron Morton” in the production Chicago, 2007, and in 2008, she was cast as “Ms. Lovett” in the production Sweeney Todd, 2009 cast as "Jenna" in Motherhood the Musical, as "Mama Euralie' in Once On This Island. In 2009 of October she shared the gospel stage with several artists at Bayfest in Mobile, AL. In 2010 Jewel will be playing "Vivian" in the Alvin Moore production, "The Hell She Wrote", as well as the Narrator in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", at TPAC, in Nashville TN. Jewel is a graduate of the LP1, Word of Faith, Bible Studies Class. Under the leader ship of Pastor Henry Coles where Jewel is also a member of the Praise and WorshipTeam. She has released her new gospel project, "Spirit Driven". And is currently accepting bookings to promote her Devinely inspired CD. This CD will bless your spirit, its ministry, its the Word in song!
